Throughout July and August, the Aberystwyth Silver Band brought music, laughter, and community spirit to the seafront with their beloved summer bandstand concerts. Free and open to all, these weekly performances turned Tuesday evenings \u2014 and a few bonus Thursdays \u2014 into unforgettable musical moments.<\/p>\n

July 2025:<\/p>\n

Tuesdays: 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th
\nBonus Thursday: 17th<\/p>\n

August 2025:<\/p>\n

Tuesdays: 12th, 19th, 26th
\nBonus Thursdays: 7th, 28th<\/p>\n

Highlights from the Season<\/strong><\/p>\n

Opening Night Magic
\nThe season began with sunshine, surprise guests, and a horn trio featuring six horns! The Mayor of Aberystwyth joined the crowd, and the evening ended with a golden sunset and ice cream from PD\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Quirky Performances
\nFrom The Ugly Duckling (complete with duck impressions by band leader Graham) to a kazoo-filled Chicken Run, the band embraced the whimsical with flair.<\/p>\n

Solo Spotlights
\nEllie West\u2019s moving cornet solos on David of the White Rock and Share My Yoke were standout moments, alongside Graham Showell\u2019s tenor horn rendition of Over the Rainbow.<\/p>\n

Pop Meets Brass
\nThe band gave bold, brassy treatments to hits like YMCA, Mr Blue Sky, Bad Guy, and All My Loving (with a cheeky Cha Cha Cha twist).<\/p>\n

Unexpected Surprises
\nA Chinook fly-by, interpretive conducting, and even the discovery of bandstand \u201cair conditioning\u201d added to the season\u2019s charm.<\/p>\n

Final Notes<\/strong>
\nFrom heartfelt duets to brassy chaos, the Aberystwyth Silver Band\u2019s summer season was a celebration of music, community, and seaside joy. Whether you danced, sang along, or simply soaked up the sunset, thank you for being part of it.
